Position Overview: The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the accounts receivables, in addition to other accounting duties. This individual will ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations such as general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis to verify data integrity.
- Manage the accounts receivable process including invoice processing, customer management, and applying payments. Must understand a Chart of Accounts and how to apply that to the receivables processes.
- Contribute to regulatory reporting requirements by preparing schedules and documentation for external audits or governmental agencies.
- Work closely with other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience in accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
- Demonstrated proficiency QuickBooks and MS Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of financial concepts including accrual accounting, debits & credits, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Effective communication skills for preparing financial reports and collaborating across teams.
- Knowledge of automotive industry-specific regulations and best practices is preferred.
