Speech Language Pathologist in Hickory, NC

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for the 2026/2027 school year providing Speech-Language Pathology services to a diverse student population. Begin in August 2026 and make an impact supporting primarily PreK students, while also working with some high schoolers. You’ll play a vital role empowering students with significant behavioral needs, helping them develop essential communication skills for academic and social success.

Candidates should be adept at adapting therapy approaches and thrive in a collaborative educational setting. Your caseload will range between 30 and 42 students, offering a manageable and meaningful opportunity to see your interventions make a difference. This role is ideal for SLPs ready to partner with school staff, families, and support teams to craft individualized service plans and help students reach their potential.

Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina SLP license (required)
• Previous experience as a School Speech-Language Pathologist (preferred)
• Confidence working with PreK and high school students
• Understanding of and experience with significant behavioral needs is highly valued
• Ability to develop and implement IEP goals
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and provide speech-language therapy tailored to student needs
