Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide differentiated instruction based on individual student goals in academic and functional areas
- Oversee the daily work of paraprofessionals and provide instructional guidance
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Manage compliance and documentation related to IDEA and state requirements
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and participate in IEP meetings
- Support student behavior plans and apply positive behavior strategies
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate with appropriate Special Education endorsement
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred)
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and evidence-based instructional practices
- Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
- Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs
