Special Education Teacher | Stamford, Connecticut

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Demonstrated experience teaching middle and/or high school students
• Familiarity with co-teaching models and resource settings
• Capability to manage a caseload of 18-22 students, ensuring individualized learning plans are implemented and monitored
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working closely with general education staff, administrators, and families
• Ability to adapt lessons and strategies to support students’ unique learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and services to middle and high school students in both resource rooms and general education classrooms
• Collaborate with co-teachers to plan and implement differentiated lessons that align with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, report data, and participate in IEP meetings
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and independence
• Implement evidence-based interventions and supports for academic and behavioral development
