School Social Worker in Freeport, IL

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1 years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Providing essential support to elementary school students, this opportunity offers a rewarding role for a licensed Social Worker with a PEL in a K-5 setting. End Date: June 6th, 2026
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week
Age Group: Kindergarten through 5th grade
Duration: Contract for the current school year (CSY)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement appropriate intervention plans
• Assist in crisis intervention and provide referrals to community resources as needed
• Maintain thorough documentation and reports in compliance with school policies and regulations
• Advocate for student needs and create a supportive school climate that fosters learning and growth

Qualifications and Certifications:

• Valid Social Worker license with a Professional Educator License (PEL) for school social work
• Experience working with elementary students, preferably in a school setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
