Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid and current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Previous experience working in schools or with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP process and goals
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, parents, and administrators
- Flexibility and a proactive approach to solving challenges
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students’ needs related to functional independence, educational access, and participation
- Develop individualized treatment plans and provide direct therapy services to address fine/gross motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive behaviors
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expert recommendations and progress updates
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate therapeutic interventions into classroom routines
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, session notes, and communication logs
- Serve as a resource for families, offering guidance and support for carryover of strategies at home
- Adapt therapy techniques and interventions to be culturally and developmentally appropriate
