Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Empower student success in a dynamic school environment by providing vital occupational therapy services across two neighboring campuses, supporting elementary and middle-grade learners. This contract opportunity offers flexible full-time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time roles, following the standard school schedule. You’ll focus on fostering students’ independence and participation in general education and resource classrooms, with occasional support in specialized programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions in accordance with students’ IEP goals, emphasizing sensory integration and functional skill development.
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and school staff to ensure effective support within general education and select self-contained classrooms.
- Maintain timely documentation of goals, assessments, and progress notes in compliance with school and state requirements.
- Alternate campuses each day, providing continuity of care while minimizing mid-day travel.
- Participate in team meetings, parent communications, and multidisciplinary planning as needed.
- Serve a diverse student body from elementary through middle school, promoting an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Active state of Illinois Occupational Therapist license.
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based settings is highly valued.
- Strong background in sensory integration and supporting a wide range of student abilities.
