This role is fully onsite, serving a diverse caseload of 10 students from 1st through 12th grade. Schedule flexibility is a plus, as daily hours may vary (generally between 8AM and 4PM) depending on the grade levels covered. Commitment to face-to-face instruction is essential—remote or virtual options are not available. Travel professionals are encouraged to apply, and reimbursement is offered for those relocating or traveling to the area.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Current Alaska licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or proof of pending licensure and Type C certification required (copies or license numbers must be submitted).
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across elementary, middle, and high school environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with general education teachers and staff.
- Passion for creating inclusive, student-centered learning experiences.
- Ability to travel onsite; travel reimbursement is available.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with hearing loss, adapting curriculum as needed.
- Assess student progress, document growth, and participate in IEP meetings.
