Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Labelle, FL

Bring your passion for helping children thrive as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting K–12 students in a dynamic, school-based setting. This contract position serves multiple schools across Hendry County, offering a unique opportunity to make a difference for students at every grade level—from kindergarten through high school.

As a COTA working with a diverse student population, you’ll collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapists, educators, parents, and school teams to deliver effective therapy services that foster independence, inclusion, and academic success. With assignments spanning the county, flexibility and a love for variety are key as you travel to different sites (scheduled in advance over the summer) and adapt to the unique needs of each campus.

Requirements:

• Active Florida COTA license
• Previous experience in a school setting is highly valued
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Comfort with frequent travel throughout Hendry County (personal reliable transportation required)
• Commitment to best practices in pediatric occupational therapy

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to K–12 students with a range of learning and developmental needs
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and document student progress according to district and state guidelines
• Collaborate closely with the supervising OT and school staff to create supportive learning environments
• Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
• Adapt strategies to ensure accessibility and success for every student, from early learners to graduating seniors
