Responsibilities

• Deliver spiritual counseling and pastoral care to patients facing terminal illness, respecting their unique beliefs and cultural backgrounds.
• Provide bereavement support to families before and after the loss of loved ones, guiding them through grief with empathy and understanding.
• Lead religious services, prayer sessions, or spiritual rituals tailored to individual preferences and faith traditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to integrate spiritual care into overall patient treatment plans.
• Offer crisis intervention and conflict management to address emotional or spiritual crises experienced by patients or families.
• Conduct educational sessions on religious studies, biblical theology, or spiritual guidance for staff or community groups as needed.
• Assist in event planning for memorial services, religious gatherings, or community outreach programs that promote spiritual well-being.
• Maintain detailed documentation of counseling sessions, spiritual assessments, and care plans in compliance with organizational policies.

Skills

• Proven experience working as a clergyperson or pastoral counselor within a hospice or healthcare setting.
• Strong teaching abilities in religious studies, biblical theology, or related fields with experience in religious education or leadership.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively deliver public speaking engagements and facilitate group discussions.
• Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse communities while providing inclusive spiritual support.
• Expertise in crisis intervention, terminal illness counseling, and conflict management within emotionally charged environments.
• Skilled in mentoring staff members and providing leadership in faith-based initiatives or nonprofit organizations.
• Excellent writing skills for documentation, reports, and educational materials related to pastoral theology and spiritual guidance.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail.
