Schedule
The schedule for this position is flexible and based upon the needs of the families and individuals that we serve. This position may include evening and weekend hours.
Position Summary
This hourly position will provide in-home, recreational, and habilitative services to individuals residing with their families or independently in the community. Hours of work will vary depending on the needs of the service recipients. Hours spent working in each setting will not exceed the number of contracted hours in any given day or week unless authorized and only as authorized by the contracting agency. This position will be responsible to implement outcomes, follow the policies and procedures of ProBerco, and cooperate with the specific requirements of each service recipient and/or their representative. This position will, at all times, demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and compassion while fulfilling the mission of ProBerco.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or GED and experience supporting adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in a community setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and relate to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
- Experience implementing outcomes and experience with documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide scheduled services in community settings and/or the service recipient's home. Services may include skill development in activities of daily living, educational skill development or maintenance, communication skill development, sensory/motor skill development, adaptive behavior skill development, social skill development or maintenance, recreational activities, and/or transportation to required appointments and activities. Services will be provided in a supportive, caring, and safe manner and individual needs and differences will be respected.
- Independence and growth will be promoted.
- Follow each service recipient's ISP as written.
- Attend to physical needs as required for each service recipient, including those requiring specialized training or procedures.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee may be required to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
- Safety precautions are observed in order to reduce incidents of risk factors for typical office environment which are adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception.
- This job will primarily be performed inside under typical homelike conditions.
- The employee will occasionally preform the duties of this job in an office setting and in other community resource settings such as restaurants and movie theatres.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- The employee will frequently perform the duties of this job in a car.
