- Champion a zero-incident safety culture, ensuring strict compliance with OSHA regulations and company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies.
- Manage the daily operation of the blown film extrusion department, ensuring optimal product quality and throughput
- Collaborate with scheduling and operations planning teams to optimize production runs, minimize changeover times, and manage inventory effectively
- Monitor daily production reports to track yield, scrap rates, and machine uptime, taking immediate action to address variances.
- Plan and develop systems, procedures, and solutions to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.
- Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards are maintained and improved.
- Lead capital projects within the extrusion department.
- Assist in annual budget preparation for the extrusion department and be able to justify the investments being proposed.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, team leads and extrusion operators, adhering to established performance metrics and KPIs
- Identify skills gaps and oversee technical training programs for supervisors and operators
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages employee engagement and problem-solving at the floor level.
