Hours

• B-shift | Monday - Thursday | 6pm – 6am
  
  

Wage

• Starting wages for Press Assistants range from $19 - $21 /hour based on previous printing & manufacturing experience.
• $2 Shift Premium for working on B-shift only
  
  

Essential Duties

• Back up the operator of the printing
• Coordination of duties with Operator to minimize waste and downtime.
• General Cleaning on wash up and set-up (i.e. sink work).
• Preparing for upcoming jobs.
• Retrieving ink from Ink Room. Manual lifting of 5-gallon ink pails that weigh up to 45 pounds.
• Staging of ink and plates.
• Pouring inks into the Press’ reservoirs and completing quality checks on ink. Manual lifting of 5-gallon ink pails is required.
• Perform cleaning duties of the press, which includes changing of doctor blades, seals, CI drum, chambers, etc. This may include climbing a ladder to gain access to the area that needs to be cleaned.
• Staging the unwind side of the press with film that will be used. Material handling equipment is required to be used.
• Load the unwind side of the press by use of material handling equipment. Rolls of film can vary in size and weight. Manual handing of the air shaft is required. Weight of the air shaft is 50 pounds.
• Assist the rewind side of the press with unloading duties. Manual removal of the air shaft is required.
• Prepare hazardous waste material for shipments. Work with hazardous material containers including properly sealing and labeling of containers.
• Shop floor data scanning.
• Retrieving and cutting cores as needed. Core’s weight will vary depending OD’ and length.
  
  

Qualification, Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior operation of same or similar equipment preferred.
• Climbing Stairs, Bending, Twisting, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling and Squatting. Walking or standing on concrete floors for most of shift. Lifting is minimal, occasionally up to 50 lbs. Exposure to inks coatings, and solvents. Good and reliable attendance. Shift format (12 hours, days, nights with OT as needed).
