Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources will lead the organization’s HR strategy, policies, and compliance initiatives. This role requires strong expertise in employment law, employee relations, and organizational development. The ideal candidate will have a legal background to ensure HR practices are aligned with federal, state, and local laws, while also fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals- . Advise executive leadership on HR, compliance, and workforce planning matters

Compliance & Legal Oversight
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations- . Review and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures
- . Provide guidance on legal issues related to labor relations, employee disputes, and workplace investigations
- . Partner with external counsel as needed

Employee Relations & Engagement
Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations and conflict resolution- . Oversee performance management, grievance procedures, and corrective actions

Talent Management
Oversee recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes- . Support leadership development, training, and succession planning

Requirements:
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) or strong legal background in employment law preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR best practices.
Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership and drive organizational change.
HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) a plus.
