Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is a mission-driven organization dedicated to combating poverty and improving the quality of life for low-income individuals and families in Steuben and Yates counties since 1965. As a Housekeeping Aide with Pro Actions Yates Office for the Aging, you will play a vital role in supporting older adults (age 60 ) by providing essential, non-medical in-home services. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of community members, ensuring they can live safely and comfortably in their own homes.
Responsibilities
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens in clients homes.
- Assist with meal preparation to support clients nutritional needs.
- Handle laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothing and linens.
- Provide shopping assistance for groceries and household supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients in accordance with program guidelines.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills while interacting with older adults.
- Travel regularly within the service area to provide in-home support to clients.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for travel within the service area.
- Good knowledge of housekeeping practices and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate organizational values and supporting behaviors.
- Experience working with older adults is preferred.
Compensation
$16.50$18.00 per hour, full-time. Two positions available.
