Job Description

Operating from the Lexington site this individual will assume a myriad of roles and responsibilities. Reporting to the Safeguards & Security (S&S) Manager the individual will (1) review deliverables, program assessments, and coordinate S&S activities; (2) develop draft response communications to DOE contractors and stakeholders; (3) conduct S&S Assessments in all topical areas; (4) assist the Senior NMCA Specialist with assessing site responses for the annual Nuclear Materials Inventory Assessment and assisting DOE PPPO with the submission of the overall report; (5) assist with preparing data call responses for the Nuclear Material Forecast and Allotment Request and the Nuclear Material Management and Safeguards System; (6) review and assist with coordination/consultation of NMMO actions with Security NMCA personnel; (7) investigate and handle all IOSC's at Lexington facilities; (8) assist with providing quarterly security tracking and trending analysis on IOSC's for all PPPO sites; (9) maintain POC relationship with Local Emergency Response Agencies; (10) ensure performance testing is conducted and tracked in accordance with PPPO Performance Assurance Plan and DOE Orders; (11) assist with the procurement, management and maintenance of Lexington facilities AACS and Badging (12) lock and key management at Lexington, (13) Personnel security and badging coordination with the sites, (14) POC for coordination on Lexington S&S projects, (ie. TACLANE project, when modifying LA/PPA boundaries, etc.), (15) OPSEC coordinator & develop and distribute security awareness bulletins, (16) assists with management/tracking of the Lexington S&S training requirements, (17) Survey support (i.e., being an assessor for the other sites' annual surveys), (18) consistent communication with site S&S POC's.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with a minimum of five years of DOE related Security Programs experience or fifteen years direct working experience in DOE Safeguards and Security programs with emphasis in the Technical Security program.
• Demonstrated proficiency to perform DOE Safeguards and Security tasks and/or responsibilities related to Program Planning and Management, e.g., Planning and Procedures; Physical Protection, Information Security, Personnel Security; Foreign Visits and Assignments and Nuclear Materials Control and Accountability.
• Experience with contractor program oversight and contract execution and related tasks
• Experience with performing DOE Assessments, Survey's, Corrective Action Plans and Survey & Comprehensive Self-Assessment Report development.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and client personnel.

• Experience in S&S issues
• Classification experience/awareness
• SSIMS operator
• NTC S&S related training

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
