Smart Home Service Technician
Pro Tech Solutions is seeking an experienced Smart Home Service Technician to join our growing team. We design, install, and support luxury residential technology systems throughout the Portland metro area, Oregon, and Southwest Washington.
This is a service-focused role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, solving problems, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. Every day brings a different challenge—from diagnosing smart home issues to performing system upgrades and helping clients get the most from their technology.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential smart home systems.
- Configure and support automation, lighting, audio/video, networking, and surveillance systems.
- Perform equipment replacements, upgrades, programming, and system commissioning.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, and team members while documenting completed work.
What We're Looking For
- Experience servicing residential smart home, AV, or low-voltage systems.
- Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: Savant, Lutron HomeWorks, Sonos, Ring, Control4, Crestron, Ubiquiti, Araknis, or similar residential automation and networking platforms.
- Experience using hand and power tools to complete clean, professional installations, including TV mounting, speaker installation, equipment rack assembly, cable routing, and finish work.
- Basic residential networking knowledge, including routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and IP addressing.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a customer-first attitude.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate should be comfortable independently diagnosing system issues, using a laptop to configure or troubleshoot residential technology systems, and communicating directly with homeowners while delivering a professional service experience.
