What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Pro Star Rental?

Pro Star Rental is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Clerk to support our financial operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will play an important role in assisting with core accounting processes and ensuring accuracy across our financial records. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist store managers with matching purchase orders to invoices and resolving discrepancies.
  • Process vendor applications, ensuring all necessary information is collected for new account setup.
  • Oversee company vehicle and trailer registrations, including DOT inspections, tax office renewals, and online verification.
  • Maintain fixed asset records in the Sage Fixed Assets module, ensuring consistency with point of sale software.
  • Order new toll tags as needed and reconcile the prepaid toll account.
  • Manage fuel card accounts and process related invoices for payment.
  • Compile credit card statements, prepare reconciliations, and enter data into Sage.
  • Compile, review, and enter expense reports into Sage.
  • After weekly checks are printed, match them to invoices and file appropriately.
  • Create sales journal entries and match bank deposits according to the sales journal.
  • Process customer credit applications, present them to the CFO for approval, update customer accounts in point of sale software, and send notification emails to customers and team members.
  • Provide general support to the Controller as needed.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Adaptable and able to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Experience using Sage 100 or similar accounting software
  • Background in heavy equipment—rental, sales, or operations preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • High School Diploma or GED required, college degree in Accounting related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position required.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
