Crossing Guards

As a Crossing Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of pedestrians, particularly children, as they cross the street on their way to and from school. This is an important position that requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment. Please apply if you are in the Lakeshore area. Responsibilities: Safely guide pedestrians, especially children, across designated crosswalks Direct traffic flow and ensure vehicles come to a stop when necessary Maintain visibility by wearing the provided safety vest and using the stop sign paddle Communicate effectively with pedestrians, drivers, and fellow crossing guards Report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate authorities Follow established procedures and guidelines for crossing locations Attend training sessions and meetings as required Qualifications: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pedestrians and drivers Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations Excellent observation skills to identify potential hazards or unsafe behavior Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and withstand various weather conditions Must pass any required background checks or screenings Job Type: Casual Pay: $18.48 per hour Experience: Supervising children: 1 year (required) Language: English (required) Work Location: In person
