Pro Pump Solutions, Inc. is looking for an experienced mechanic eager to join a company that solves the toughest water-related challenges. We provide products and service for the mining industry, municipal water and wastewater facilities, industrial factories, and agricultural customers. We offer complete pump repair and maintenance services in our Georgia facility as well as on-site pump repair, maintenance, and new pump installations.

Pump mechanics troubleshoot and perform repairs on submersible, centrifugal, vertical turbine, and positive displacement pumps. We need a reliable individual committed to maintaining Pro Pump’s high standards of service and quality. All tools are provided. This is a full-time permanent position that may require overtime work as needed.

We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair all brands and models of pumps. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of pumps, motors and mechanical systems.

An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled repairs, deliveries, and service for submersible dewatering, engine driven, and centrifugal pumps.
  • Maintains, cleans, replaces and repairs pumps, electric motors, automatic controls, valves, piping, plumbing, mechanical assemblies and related pump station equipment.
  • Replace packing, mechanical seals, and bearings in pumps.
  • Install centrifugal and positive displacement pumps; perform motor and pump alignment.
  • Operates portable pumps, ventilators, generators, air tools, gas detectors and similar portable equipment; may operate a variety of vehicles such as forklifts, dump trucks, flatbed trucks, loaders, tractors, backhoes, sewer cleaning and vacuum trucks
  • Performs preventative maintenance on lift stations, dry pit lift stations and submersible lift stations; performs diagnostic work to determine the cause of poor or non-performance
  • Performs record keeping and maintains files on work performed; maintains inspection and repair records.
  • Assists with telemetry repair and maintenance or fabrication and welding of pumps, motors and other peripheral equipment
  • Assists with periodic safety inspections; identifies and corrects safety hazards
  • Responds to emergency calls for service on a call-out basis and works outside normal working hours as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required



Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Practices, procedures, tools and materials used in the maintenance, repair and installation of heavy plant equipment, pumps, motors, controllers, variable speed and chain drives, and lift stations
  • Occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to maintenance and repair of wastewater equipment and distribution



Ability to:

  • Read and follow work orders and instructions
  • Read and comprehend wiring diagrams and comfortable working with 120v to 575v, both single and three phase.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, repair manuals and diagnostic test results;
  • Ability to use measuring equipment and interpret mechanical diagrams, curves, specifications, etc.
  • Use a variety of test instruments and power, hydraulic or hand tools; (ie: ohm meters, meg-ohm meters, multi meters and capacitor testers)
  • Respond quickly to critical situations, and carry out work assignments as instructed;
  • Maintain accurate records;
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with those contacted in the course of work.



Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum two years of experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of heavy industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, vari-speed and chain drives, and lift stations.
  • 2 years hands-on mechanical or electrical repair experience preferred
  • Ability to use measuring equipment and interpret mechanical diagrams, curves, specifications, etc.
  • Experience with diesel engines a plus
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to lead and desire to work as a team player
  • Focus on detail and efficiency
  • Military experience preferred but not required



Certifications/License:

  • Possession of a valid Georgia driver’s license.
  • Confined Space Certification a plus
  • Commercial driver’s license a plus



Requirements:
