- Evaluate patients’ ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
- Develop individualized plans of care, including appropriate treatment types and frequency.
- Provide hands-on treatment and utilize appropriate therapeutic modalities.
- Complete thorough and accurate SOAP notes documenting each patient’s progress and status.
- Monitor patient progress and modify the plan of care as needed, seeking consultation when appropriate.
- Educate patients and their families or caregivers about diagnoses, deficits, treatment, and strategies for continued progress.
- Assist with patient discharge and transition from therapy services, including assessment of home and work environments and recommendations for return-to-work modifications when appropriate.
- Educate patients on the appropriate selection and use of adaptive equipment and available support programs.
- Oversee the care provided by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with licensing laws, state regulations, and OT practice standards.
- Support and supervise OT and OTA students completing clinical rotations.

- Previous experience is preferred but not required.
- Current Kentucky Occupational Therapist license required upon hire.
- Deep Physical Agent Modalities (DPAM) certification required, or willingness to obtain certification.
- A patient-centered approach and genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of those you serve.
- Strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
- Proactive and positive communication skills.
- A willingness to learn, grow, and continue developing your clinical skills.
- A team-oriented attitude and enthusiasm for working in a supportive, collaborative environment.
