The Pro Football Retired Players Association (PFRPA) is seeking an experienced business development professional to manage and expand organization’s portfolio of strategic partnerships and corporate sponsorships. The Senior Business Development Specialist will work closely with the Senior Director to execute a sound business development plan aimed at identifying, cultivating and managing business partnerships that drive financial growth in a nonprofit setting. In this role, the Specialist will serve as a resource to the organization, identifying potential local, regional and national sponsors; driving yearlong corporate sponsorships; securing event sponsors; negotiating agreements; and managing long-term relationships with businesses and organizations that align with PFRPA’s mission. This full-time employee must be strategic, dependable, highly motivated and possess a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will be able to exercise sound judgment and add value, while extending the organization’s goals and missions.Duties & Responsibilities:Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that drives revenue growth, enhances member value and advances the Association’s missionIdentify, cultivate and secure mission-aligned corporate sponsorships and partnershipsLead sponsorship and activation efforts for Association’s events and experiencesConduct market research to identify potential partners and emerging revenue opportunitiesPrepare outreach documents, including proposals, pitch materials and partnership packages tailored for local, regional and national business prospectsNegotiate agreements that deliver value to both PFRPA and sponsoring companiesManage long-term partner relationships to ensure fulfillment, satisfaction and renewalCollaborate with internal teams to maximize brand-building and revenue-generating opportunities across Association’s programs and eventsTrack and evaluate performance, sponsorship revenue and partnership outcomesRepresent the organization at meetings and special eventsOther duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with a concentration in business administration, marketing, communications, hospitality, nonprofit management and/or event management; master’s degree preferredAt least five years of sponsorship sales, partnership development, corporate fundraising, event management and/or marketing; nonprofit or member association experience preferredExpertise in building and maintaining long-term client or partner relationshipsExperience developing proposals, pitch decks and revenue-generating initiativesAbility to work independently and in a team environment, interacting effectively with individuals across multiple levelsExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsDetail-oriented and strong organizational skillsEffective time management skills with focus on meeting deadlinesAbility to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneouslyProficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Adobe Creative Cloud and Google WorkspaceApplication Material:Include cover letter and resumeWork Remotely:HybridVaccination Notice:All candidates for employment at Pro Football Retired Players Association are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to start of employment.
