Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient inventory management, maintain safety standards, and exhibit leadership qualities. In short, we seek an individual who will possess the experience and poise necessary to further develop and coach a team who is dedicated to excellence in logistics and distribution. This role is critical to maintaining our reputation for timely, accurate order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management:
• Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping
• Develop, implement, and maintain efficient warehouse processes and procedures
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing team to maintain optimal stock levels
• Ensure accurate inventory counts and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Manage warehouse layout optimization for maximum efficiency, productivity and safety
Team Leadership:
• Supervise, train, and develop warehouse staff
• Create work schedules and manage staffing levels to meet operational demands
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
• Foster a positive, safety-focused work environment
• Lead and motivate by example in promoting company values and work ethic
• Open minded and willing to embrace and foster the concept of continuous improvement in our distribution center
Safety & Compliance:
• Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies
• Conduct safety meetings and training sessions as necessary for distribution center staff
• Ensure proper use of safety equipment and procedures
• Investigate and document any safety incidents or near-misses
• Maintain clean, organized warehouse environment
Quality Control:
• Implement quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing products
• Ensure accurate order fulfillment and minimize shipping errors
• Coordinate with customer service to resolve any product or shipping issues
• Maintain detailed records and documentation
• Possess a customer centric attitude to ensure our clients expectations are routinely met or exceeded
Technology & Systems:
• Utilize SAP Business One warehouse management system for inventory tracking and management
• Generate reports on warehouse performance metrics
• Work with IT team to optimize system functionality
• Stay current with warehouse technology and automation opportunities
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 4 years of warehouse management experience
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Proficiency with ERP Systems, SAP Business One warehouse management system preferred
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and warehouse safety practices
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in warehouse environment
• Forklift certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SAP Business One system or other similar ERP Systems
• Experience in safety equipment or industrial supply industry
• Lean/Six Sigma certification
• Experience with automated warehouse systems
