As a Warehouse Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our warehouse. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Inventory Management & Replenishment
- Assist with replenishing all truck inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and order accuracy.
- Run weekly stock replenishment reports to identify inventory needs. The order will be pulled from existing warehouse stock, and any remaining items will need to be ordered from vendors to ensure inventory levels are maintained.
- Ensure inventory is placed in the correct locations upon receipt.
- Replenish technician bins with necessary parts and materials.
- Every Friday, restock will be delivered to the storage center, and empty bins will be brought back to the shop to be refilled and used for the following week.
- Assist the Inventory Manager with warehouse and truck counts on a rolling count throughout the year to ensure ongoing accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
Parts Ordering Support
- Support parts ordering when workloads require additional help, as well as during the Warehouse Manager's absence, such as vacations, ensuring timely procurement of needed parts and materials.
Warehouse Organization & Maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse on a daily basis.
- Regularly pick up trash, sweep floors, and reorganize equipment based on current job needs.
- Keep the warehouse "broom clean" and ensure the yard is free of debris or any obstructions that may block the drive path.
- Properly dispose of pallets and boxes, ensuring they are placed in the dumpster.
- Schedule dumpster pickup when it is full to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
Forklift Operation & Safety
- Obtain forklift certification and participate in ongoing operation training.
- Strictly follow safety procedures when operating the forklift.
- Ensure the forklift is properly maintained and that guidelines for equipment maintenance are followed.
- Keep all walkways, exits, and aisles clear of debris or trip hazards to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
Job Material Staging & Preparation
- Assist with staging materials for jobs as scheduled by Management.
- Unload equipment from completed installations.
- Load equipment for upcoming installations, ensuring proper strapping and securing of items. Verify the load with the driver before departure to ensure safety.
- Ensure all trailers and flatbeds containing materials/equipment from the previous job are emptied and prepared for the next job before the end of the day.
Receiving & Processing Deliveries
- Help with receiving and processing incoming materials and equipment.
- Inspect the condition of new equipment upon arrival, confirming there is no damage.
- Identify, tag, and allocate materials to the correct work order or job.
Warehouse Security & End-of-Day Procedures
- Close all gates and ensure the warehouse doors are secured at the end of each workday.
Tool & Equipment Maintenance
- Conduct a visual inspection to ensure that all Pro-Air tool equipment is in good working condition upon return.
- Inspect tools such as hydraulic lifts, Johnson bars, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and Genie lifts.
Warranty Returns & Claims
- Assist with warranty returns and claims by ensuring parts are correctly returned and tagged by technicians.
- Update the warranty tracker and prepare parts for return to distributors.
- Ensure warranty returns are sent out every Friday morning.
Job Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 1-2 years in a warehouse or similar environment. Forklift experience preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years experience in HVAC knowledge preferred.
- Certifications: Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain), basic safety training.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Basic computer skills (inventory software, spreadsheets).
- Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for long periods, and perform manual labor.
- Safety Knowledge: Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and OSHA standards.
- Communication: Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve inventory discrepancies and address equipment issues
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
