Job Summary
The Homemaker and personal caregiver plays a vital role in providing compassionate and supportive care to individuals in a homes setting. The caregiver is responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities while ensuring their dignity and comfort. This position requires a strong commitment to patient observation and the ability to work independently.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Maintaining the client's home through organization, helping with daily tasks, and regular cleaning.
- Provide support with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Monitor and document changes in residents' conditions, ensuring accurate patient observation.
- Support residents with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment.
Skills
- Strong observational skills to monitor changes in patients’ health and well-being.
- Experience with homemaking and personal care services preferred but not required. Training is available.
- Ability to provide direct support while maintaining a respectful approach to personal care.
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
