- Job Details
- Performs various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure.
- Functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and reports to Surgical Services management.
- Supports system wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices.
- Participates in the surgical operations safety plan.
- Maintains accountability for operating room and surgical items sterilization.
- Maintains sterile field and ensures a safe environment.
- Recognizes and addresses sharps and fire safety processes.
- Prepares operating room and instruments for surgical procedures.
- May assist with sterile processing.
- Assists surgeon(s) during procedures within ORT scope of practice.
- Identifies emergency situations and implements appropriate responses.
- Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for next procedure.
- Job Requirements
- 2 years of Surgical Tech experience.
- 1 year CVOR scrubbing experience with Cardio experience.
- At least 1 year of Cardiovascular (CV) experience as a Surgical Tech.
- Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program or equivalent experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge and experience in sterile field management, environmental safety, sharps safety, fire safety, surgical services, sterile processing, emergency response, life support in surgical care, sterilization processes, and supervision within surgical services.
- Regular attendance during scheduled shifts required.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends as required.
- Schedule Information
- Shift: 4-10 hour nights - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (8:30pm to 7:00am)
- No call or weekend shifts required
- 40 hours per week
- Additional Details
- Preferred: 1 year clinical experience in an accredited hospital.
