Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Material Handler to join our dynamic team. In this hands-on role, you'll ensure smooth material flow across our facilities, operate equipment to move parts, and provide flexible support to keep production running efficiently. This position requires forklift certification/experience, the ability to travel between our nearby facilities for parts delivery, and a team-player mindset willing to assist in assembly or quality control when needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, or reach truck), order pickers and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and store automotive parts, components, and materials.
- Pick, stage, and deliver parts and supplies between company facilities to support production schedules and minimize downtime.
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities and condition against purchase orders, and accurately put away high-performance parts in designated inventory locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts, and report any discrepancies or shortages.
- Prepare orders for internal transfer or shipping, including packaging, labeling, and securing loads for safe transport.
- Float between departments as needed: assist with light assembly tasks, support quality control inspections, or help with kitting/sub-assembly processes during peak demand or staffing fluctuations.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S/lean manufacturing standards to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage, equipment inspections, and hazard reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operations in our fast-paced performance automotive environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or similar role in manufacturing, automotive, or logistics.
- Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification quickly) and proven safe forklift operating experience required.
- Experience handling automotive parts or similar precision components is a plus.
- Ability and willingness to travel between facilities (valid driver's license and clean driving record required; company vehicle provided for inter-facility runs).
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand/walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to quality—performance parts demand precision!
- Flexible schedule availability (may include occasional overtime or shift adjustments to support production needs).
- Basic computer skills for inventory systems, scanners, and data entry.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and eagerness to help in multiple areas (assembly, QC, etc.).
Preferred Skills
- Experience in automotive, motorsports, or performance aftermarket industries.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or just-in-time inventory practices.
- Knowledge of quality control processes or basic inspection tools.
