Position Overview
Prizer Point Marina & Resort is seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated Lead Maintenance Technician to assist in overseeing the daily maintenance operations of our marina, campground, lodging facilities, rental fleet, grounds, and resort infrastructure.
This position serves as a working leader within the maintenance department and works directly with the Maintenance Manager to ensure projects, repairs, preventative maintenance, and contractor work are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong troubleshooting abilities, broad maintenance knowledge, leadership skills, and experience coordinating construction or contractor-related projects.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring the ability to perform maintenance work while also helping prioritize projects, coordinate resources, train team members, and ensure accountability throughout the department.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in directing daily maintenance operations.
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and work ethic.
- Help train, mentor, and develop maintenance team members.
- Monitor project progress and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Assist with assigning priorities and coordinating daily work assignments.
- Provide updates on project status, challenges, and maintenance needs.
- Help maintain department organization, productivity, and accountability.
Maintenance & Operations Responsibilities
- Perform advanced maintenance and repair work involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical systems, HVAC, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues efficiently.
- Execute preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and costly repairs.
- Maintain campground facilities, lodging units, marina infrastructure, rental equipment, grounds, roads, and utilities.
- Assist with seasonal openings, closings, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations and after-hours operational needs.
Contractor & Project Coordination
- Assist with contractor scheduling, oversight, and project coordination.
- Read and interpret basic construction plans, project scopes, and specifications.
- Verify contractor work is completed according to company expectations and quality standards.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and project timelines.
- Communicate project updates and obstacles to management.
- Help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget expectations.
Reporting & Documentation
- Complete daily reports detailing completed work, project progress, and outstanding issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Ensure maintenance requests are properly documented and closed out.
- Provide timely communication to management regarding repairs, emergencies, and project updates.
- Maintain accountability for department tools, equipment, vehicles, inventory, and supplies.
Guest Service Responsibilities
- Provide superior customer service to guests, seasonal campers, slip holders, and visitors.
- Respond professionally and promptly to guest concerns.
- Maintain a positive attitude while representing the company.
- Communicate effectively with all departments to support overall resort operations.
Expected Results
- Facilities, lodging units, marina assets, and campground infrastructure remain operational and well-maintained.
- Maintenance projects are completed safely, professionally, and on schedule.
- Preventative maintenance programs are consistently followed.
- Contractors and vendors are effectively coordinated and managed.

- Daily communication and reporting requirements are consistently met.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance, construction, facilities, marina, campground, resort, or related experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, or construction projects preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, project plans, and construction specifications is a plus.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and asset management.
- Basic understanding of propane systems, fuel systems, pumps, motors, and equipment operation.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Must provide personal hand tools commonly used in maintenance and construction work.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, and work on uneven terrain.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to operate power tools, heavy equipment, maintenance equipment, and vehicles safely.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
Schedule & Expectations
- Salaried leadership position.
- Expected schedule is approximately 5.5 days per week.
- Weekends and holidays are required during operating season.
- Must be available for emergency and on-call situations when needed.
- No extended vacations during peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) without prior approval.
- Off-season hours may vary based on project schedules and operational needs.
- Must demonstrate a high level of ownership, initiative, accountability, and reliability.
