Position Overview
Prizer Point Marina & Resort is seeking a motivated, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a salaried position responsible for maintaining campground facilities, marina operations, lodging units, buildings, equipment, grounds, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for our guests.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, mechanically inclined, and capable of performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and accountability.
ResponsibilitiesFacility & Property Maintenance
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings, lodging units, marina facilities, campground infrastructure, and grounds.
- Complete basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and mechanical repairs.
- Diagnose maintenance issues and implement effective solutions.
- Participate in preventative maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and facility failures.
- Assist with property improvement projects and seasonal opening/closing procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
Work Order & Reporting
- Respond to maintenance requests received through management, phone, text, email, or work order systems.
- Document completed work and communicate task completion to management promptly.
- Complete daily reports detailing work performed, project progress, and outstanding issues.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and preventative maintenance schedules.
Guest Service
- Provide exceptional customer service by being professional, responsive, and helpful to guests.
- Address guest concerns promptly and report all issues, complaints, or requests to management.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with guests, coworkers, and leadership.
Inventory & Accountability
- Organize maintenance supplies, equipment, and storage areas.
- Assist with inventory tracking and labeling of tools and materials.
- Maintain accountability for company equipment, tools, vehicles, and supplies.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Expected Results
- Campground, marina, lodging, and resort facilities remain operational, clean, and well-maintained.
- Maintenance requests are completed accurately and promptly.
- Projects are completed safely, efficiently, and cleaned up properly after completion.
- Daily communication and reporting requirements are met.
- Guests receive excellent service and timely responses to maintenance concerns.
- Work is performed with professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance practices.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely.
- Basic understanding of propane systems, fuel dispensing, and chemical handling.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Previous maintenance, construction, marina, campground, or resort experience preferred.
- Employees are expected to provide their own basic hand tools.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work on uneven terrain.
- Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Operate loud and vibrating maintenance equipment.
- Frequently use hands and fingers to handle tools and equipment.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and maintenance equipment.
Schedule & Expectations
- Expected schedule is approximately 5.5 days per week.
- Weekends and holidays are required.
- Must be available for on-call situations as needed.
- No extended vacations during peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) unless approved by management.
- During the offseason, hours may be reduced to approximately 25–30 hours per week while focusing on winter projects and preventative maintenance.
