Role and Responsibilities
The AR Credit Analyst ensures that credit risk is managed with care by ensuring timely and accurate billing is performed, new applicants are vetted, existing customers are monitored and appropriate communication is provided to all customers, so they are providing timely payments.
- Monitor existing credit accounts and portfolios to identify potential risks, ensure compliance with loan agreement terms and internal policies, and recommend changes to credit limits or terms.
- Analyze Credit applications, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess the financial health and repayment ability of new applicants.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as sales, legal, and finance, to communicate credit decisions, negotiate terms, and resolve client issues, including outstanding payments.
- Regularly reconcile Trade AR and provide weekly account balance reviews and provide updates to the Controller and CFO weekly on DSO trends, Past Due Balance and anticipated incoming Cash Flows.
- Perform AR billing activities for both Shipments and returns and process down payment billing and payment activity for CIA customers.
- Perform reconciliations on Customer deposits for CIA accounts.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Proven working experience as a credit analyst or in a related financial role is required.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in financial analysis and credit evaluation techniques.
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, financial ratios, and accounting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel skills for data analysis and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with financial software (SAP B1 ) and statistical packages (Credit safe )
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with sound judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
