Scope of Work:
The Senior Project manager will Oversee and manage highly sensitive and complex IT projects, ensuring adaptability to changing needs and requirements, evaluate goals, risks, and constraints to select the most effective project management methodology. Assist stakeholders in identifying business problems and goals, facilitating communication and decision-making. Ensure clear communication of project needs and objectives, adhering to EPM governance.
Location: Hybrid in Rockville, MD
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversee information technology projects of the highest sensitivity and complexity.
- Execute project plans and revise as authorized to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Evaluate the goals, risks, and constraints of projects to determine the most efficient and effective project management methodology (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid) to follow.
- Assist stakeholders with identifying and documenting business problems and project goals through the completion of business cases.
- Facilitate communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making processes among multiple stakeholders and proactively remove barriers.
- Ensure project needs and objectives are clearly communicated, and teams have all necessary information and resources to complete tasks.
- Adhere to the defined EPM governance process.
- Maintain documentation that reflects any changes to scope, timelines, milestones and deliverables.
- Translate and document conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements and user stories in a clear and comprehensive manner.
- Proactively keep stakeholders and senior management abreast of the status of projects and could respond to status requests on demand.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues and implement mitigation strategies
Qualifications:
- Must possess at least twelve (12) years of hands-on experience in the information technology field as a project or program manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
