Certified Surgical Technologist (Ophthalmology) – Contract / Part-Time

Schedule: 10–30 hours per week (varies based on facility needs), 4-hour pay guarantee per shift

Position Overview
We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist experienced in ophthalmology to support cataract and oculoplastic procedures at outpatient surgery centers across the Metro Atlanta area.
This role includes both clinical surgical support and laser operation, as well as administrative tracking responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Alcon LenSx femtosecond laser for cataract procedures
- Scrub for cataract and oculoplastic surgeries
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams in maintaining a sterile field
- Perform administrative and clerical log keeping related to procedures and equipment
- Provide technical troubleshooting for surgical equipment when needed
- Maintain professional communication with surgeons, nurses, and facility staff
Requirements
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through the NBSTSA
- Alcon LenSx training certification
- Minimum 2 years surgical technologist experience
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Technical troubleshooting ability with surgical equipment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift 25–50 lbs
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the management of PrivateEye Surgical Services and the hosting facility’s manager.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Contract / Part-time role
- Hours vary based on surgery center needs (typically 10–30 hours per week)
- Work takes place at multiple outpatient surgery centers across the Metro Atlanta area
