Experienced Marine Rigger

Responsibilities

Setting up the pieces of equipment necessary to keep the boat functioning

Responsible for installing the boat accessories - drill holes, attach brackets, and install hardware on the deck of the boat

Installation of lights, batteries, ignition switches, and fuel tanks, marine electronics and outriggers

Extensive knowledge and experience with wiring and marine electric systems

May also change boat propellers, engine oil, and gear case oil and adjust motors to obtain maximum performance

May also install, maintenance and service outboard motors and controls on each boat

Fabricate, Install, and repair powerboats' rigging - installing aluminum arch, and hardtops for each boat produced

Survey and inspect rigging and male recommendations for corrective repairs.

Set up and participate in boat shows and other off-site promotional events

Prepare all work in a safe and clean manner, leaving boat in top condition for delivery to customer

Other duties as required

Requirements

Must have own hand tools, boat or car engine experience

Equivalent to graduation from high school, preferably with some training or course work in the materials, methods and procedures utilized in wood working and pattern making

Basic knowledge of woodworking machinery and methods

Ability to read, understand and follow verbal directions and work from blueprints and sketches

Ability to use measuring tools and scales

Ability to learn to operate drill presses, disc sanders, band saws, routers and table saws

Ability to safely operate a forklift

Ability to stretch, reach, bend, stoop and lift parts and materials weighing 50 pounds or less

Ability to move heavier objects with the assistance of co-workers or mechanical devices

Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $30.00 per hour
