What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Health Aide position at Private Pay Patient?
Resident resides in home with spouse. In addition to this position, this patient is seen my respiratory therapist, nurse, travelling doctor, and physical therapist. This roll will interact with these professionals to carry out therapies as trained. This patient is ventilator dependent, and currently unable to move head or limbs.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide safe and compassionate home care services.
- Daily physical therapy and speech therapy to be carried out.
- Physical Ability to assist with patient hygiene, ventilator care, tracheotomy suctioning, patient position and perform hands-on care standing or walking.
- Ability to follow infection control practices, and adhere to privacy standards.
- Patient care skills, including observing and reporting changes in condition and supporting comfort and safety.
- Strong Communication skills to interact professionally with patient, spouse and other health care providers.
- Completion of a Home Health Aide or Nurse Aide training program preferred.
- Previous experience as a home health aide, nursing assistant, or similar role in healthcare or home care setting is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in St. Clair Shores, MI. Scheduling can be flexible, but prefer a consistent 5 hour schedule per day.
- Med distribution and feeding via pick line is completed by spouse and is not within the scope of this position.
