What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician Technician position at Private Optometry/Optical Practice?
Established professional independent optometry practice seeking full-time optician. Experience preferred, will train qualified applicant. Experience with EMR systems and medical billing is preferred. Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions from optometrists, measuring patients for proper frame fit and lens fit, recommending eyewear options based on visual needs and lifestyle, adjusting and repairing eyewear, processing orders, verifying insurance benefits, and ensuring excellent patient service. An optician helps maintain inventory, supports office operations, and contributes to a positive patient experience.
Strong communication and customer service skills are required along with the ability to work in fast- paced environment.
Key Skills:
Knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frames, and lens treatments
Accurate measurements and fitting techniques
Strong customer service and communication skills
Insurance verification and billing knowledge
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Normal business hours Monday through Friday, no weekends. Paid holidays and vacation.
Must have understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
