Handyman

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled, reliable Handyman to handle a wide range of repairs, maintenance, and improvement projects around our private residence. Because our home is located on a small farm, this is a unique role that goes beyond standard indoor repairs. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, knows their way around a toolbox, and enjoys a mix of indoor home maintenance and outdoor property projects.

Core Responsibilities

Household Maintenance & Repair (Primary Focus)

• General Carpentry & Repairs: Fix doors, windows, cabinetry, and perform general woodwork.
• Basic Plumbing & Electrical: Fix leaky faucets, replace toilets, swap out light fixtures, and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Drywall & Paint: Patch holes, repair drywall, and perform interior/exterior touch-up painting.
• Preventative Upkeep: Clean gutters, pressure wash siding and walkways, change HVAC filters, etc.
• Odd Jobs: Assemble furniture, hang shelving/TVs, haul firewood, and help organize the garage and workshop.

Outdoor & Property Support

• Fencing & Structures: Repair wooden or wire fencing, gates, and outbuildings as needed.
• Grounds Upkeep: Occasionally operate riding mowers, weed eaters, or tractors for property maintenance.
• General Assistance: Assist with heavy lifting, property cleanup, and occasional support around the barns (must be comfortable working around farm animals).

Qualifications

• Experience: 3 years of proven experience as a Handyman, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
• Skills: Strong working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Tools: Proficient and safe with hand and power tools (having your own basic hand tools is a plus, but larger equipment is provided).
• Physical Ability: Able to regularly lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical labor indoors and outdoors in varying weather.
• Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a strong problem-solving mindset.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
