Caregiver - 6 Hour On-Call

This position is specifically hiring for someone to be an on-call caregiver. You will not be scheduled to a specific client, but, you are guaranteed 6 hours of pay whether you are called in or not. If someone calls out, you will be contacted and must arrive at the client’s home within 1 hour of speaking with our staff. If called in, you must be available to work up to a 12-hour shift. If you are assigned a 4-hour shift, you will still be paid the guaranteed 6 hours. If you are assigned a 12-hour shift, you will be paid for the full 12 hours. You must be available by phone and ready to work during the times specified to receive the 6-hour guarantee.

Pay Rate: $16/hr - $18/hr starting pay, depending upon experience. Advancement and promotion opportunities are available!

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Personal care, meal preparation, errands, medication reminders, and other assistance as directed by the client.

• Light housekeeping, laundry, and other household chores as visually observed.

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

• Ability to assist with transporting (i.e., Gait Belt or Hoyer Lift)

Job Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of paid caregiving experience and/or a CNA, PCA, LPN, or RN.

• Experience working with Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's, or ALS patients is a plus

• Be age 18 or older

• Pass a comprehensive background check and reference check

• Pass PHC’s skills & knowledge assessment

• Have a valid Driver's License, a good driving record, and an insured, reliable vehicle.

• Basic English speaking, reading, and writing skills; High School Diploma or equivalent
