Company Description: Private Fleet Backhaul (PFBH) is a 3PL/freight broker that moves our shipper’s high volume freight lanes via the reoccurring & scheduled backhaul capacity of our network private/dedicated fleets repositioning home. Our average lane moves 8 /wk. with 90% drop at origin and 70% drop on both ends. We do NOT use load boards, move transactional, multi-stop, driver assist, refrigerated or Haz-mat loads.
Role Description: As a Lane Capacity Manager, you’ll have cradle-to-grave responsibility for managing the interface between our carriers’ trucks and our shipper’s freight. Activities will include but not be limited to: all admin/system updates across multiple systems, scheduling activities and trailer pool management on both ends, monitoring shipment status and proactively communicating any disruptions, delays, or issues to appropriate stakeholders, ownership of problem resolution/recovery, scheduling lumpers, approving/processing accessorial charges and overall responsibility for all activities related to loads moving on your lanes.
70% of your external communication will be with dispatchers’/fleet managers/supervisors/operations managers at our private/dedicated fleets and they will deploy their drivers, with the remaining 30% divided between our shippers, facilities and other 3PL’s involved in our customers supply chain. This full-time position is based in Anderson, IN with the initial 6-8 wks. being 100% in office and will transition to hybrid remote role with two days/wk. in office and three days/wk. remote. All LCM’s work 1st shift nine hours/day, M-F.
Qualifications:
- 2 years in trucking industry with responsibility for managing/dispatching drivers and/or supply chain related communication with shippers/carriers/intermediaries
- Strong communicators, comfortable multi-tasking, disciplined/structured by nature, work well in team environment and are administratively proficient with TMS platforms, scheduling systems, and basic office software (spreadsheets, email, communication tools)
- Ability to work on-site in Anderson, IN
