Position Summary
The Summer Camp Director is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a wide variety of camp activities, sports clinics and camp social events in collaboration with department heads and club professionals. This role works closely with club staff to cultivate a vibrant youth community that reflects the club’s values of inclusiveness, respect, and sportsmanship.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong vision for elevating the summer camp program, actively engage members and their children, and demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for making a meaningful impact.
Summer camp at the Club lasts for seven weeks. The seven-week summer session runs from June 22 to August 7, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive camp curriculum featuring age-appropriate recreational and educational activities.
- Create, maintain, and enforce camp policies and procedures.
- Plan and coordinate daily camp schedules and special programming.
- Present camp information and program offerings to prospective families as needed.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise camp counselors.
- Oversee camp operations and always ensure camper safety and well-being.
- Manage program budgets, including ordering equipment and supplies.
- Adapt activities and programming to accommodate campers with special needs.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive camp environment.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
- Coordinate and distribute informational communications to members in collaboration with department heads.
- Create promotional materials for camps, clinics, and special events.
Member & Guest Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members and their children
- Represent the club professionally and positively at all times.
Education, Licenses & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Recreation, or a related field required.
- Current CPR/AED certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequent bending, squatting, lifting, and turning.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as needed.
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, as well as extreme cold and heat.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
