What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Chef position at Private Chef for Family?
We are looking for an exceptional private chef who is genuinely passionate about food, longevity, metabolic health, and human performance.
Our #1 goal is simple: use nutrition to help us live longer, healthier lives. We’re looking for someone who would be excited to think of our nutrition as an ongoing longevity experiment. We are open to sharing relevant bloodwork, health data, body composition, wearable metrics, and other biomarkers so we can track progress and continually refine our diets over time.
This position serves two families. The second family lives approximately 9 minutes away, so the chef will prepare meals for both households and coordinate accordingly. Mainly only interested in lunch and dinner with some simple pre-prepped breakfast.
The chef will have a dedicated apartment directly across the hall from our home to use as their private cooking and prep space, providing a separate, comfortable environment for meal preparation, organization, and storage.
What We’re Looking For
We want a chef who is creative, curious, and highly knowledgeable about nutrient-dense, minimally processed food. Ingredient quality and sourcing are extremely important to us, and you should enjoy seeking out exceptional produce, proteins, seafood, healthy fats, and other high-quality ingredients.
Meals should be health-forward without feeling like “health food”—we want food that is beautiful, satisfying, creative, and genuinely delicious.
There are a couple of fun challenges: One person is gluten-free and does not like most vegetables. We want someone who can get creative with preparations, sauces, purées, soups, sides, and other techniques to make vegetables and nutrient-dense foods something he actually enjoys eating.
The chef will manage menu planning, sourcing and grocery shopping, cooking, kitchen cleanup, and ongoing menu refinement based on our preferences, goals, and health data.
We would especially love someone who already finds themselves fascinated by longevity, metabolic health, cardiovascular health, protein and muscle preservation, fiber and gut health, blood-sugar stability, and emerging nutrition research.
This is a long-term private chef position in Austin, Texas, offering $110,000–$130,000 annually plus PTO.
We’re looking for someone dependable, discreet, highly organized, exceptional at their craft, and genuinely excited by the idea of seeing how much of an impact incredible nutrition can have on our health over time.
