Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and organize instruments and materials before patient appointments.
  • Provide chairside assistance during restorative, cosmetic, surgical, endodontic, prosthodontic, and preventive dental procedures.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatories in accordance with OSHA and CDC infection control standards.
  • Take and process digital dental radiographs while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Prepare dental materials, including impressions, cements, composites, and temporary restorations as directed.
  • Record patient medical histories, update treatment notes, and maintain accurate electronic dental records. Eaglesoft experience preferred.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
  • Assist with taking dental impressions, intraoral photographs, and digital scans when required.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies, equipment, and instruments.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of dental equipment.
  • Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and assist with front office duties as needed.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
  • Support a positive patient experience by addressing questions, easing dental anxiety, and providing compassionate care.
  • Collaborate effectively with dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff to promote efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and office policies while maintaining a clean and professional work environment.

Experience

  • Proven 3 year experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting, preferably with a general dentistry focus.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures related to endodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and pediatrics.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic or similar software for managing medical records and documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques and equipment operation while maintaining safety standards.
  • Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including sterilization procedures and aseptic technique.
  • Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient care coordination and education within a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent credential is required; additional certifications in medical coding or pediatric dentistry are a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
