Job Summary: The Emergency Department Registered Nurse delivers rapid, high-quality nursing care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions. This role requires strong assessment skills, the ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced environment, and effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary emergency care team.
Responsibilities
Perform rapid triage, initial assessments, and ongoing reassessments of ED patients.
Provide emergency nursing interventions, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
Respond to acute changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate emergency actions.
Support zoned nursing/primary care delivery models within the department.
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with physicians and emergency care teams to ensure timely, coordinated treatment.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification Required
Emergency Department Experience Preferred
EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required
License: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License Required
