What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse position at Prisma Health?
Inspire health by providing clinical direction for all aspects of patient care in an acute inpatient setting. Foster patient/family centered care and demonstrate clinical competency using evidence-based practices/research.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes to provide high-quality patient care.
- Identify patient, unit, and organizational priorities and incorporate them into the nursing process.
- Adhere to compliance and policy/procedures, including licensure renewal, assigned training, and employee health screenings.
- Provide care within the scope of the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act.
- Collect data and complete nursing assessments using appropriate area and/or age-specific standards/policies and tools.
- Develop individual plans of care based on patient needs and validated with healthcare team members.
- Provide direct care to assigned patients consistent with established nursing plans.
- Delegate nursing tasks as appropriate to members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain a safe environment by being aware of safety procedures, protocols, and adherence to patient care standards.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- One (1) year experience as a registered nurse or successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program or comparable residency.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
Work Environment:
Acute inpatient setting, Hillcrest/Simpsonville Medical Campus, Night shift.
