Essential Functions

- Performs appropriate patient intake for a variety of medical and musculoskeletal conditions. Includes but not limited to thorough history of condition or injury, chief complaint, assessment of pain level, completion and/or review of past medical history, family history, social history, and medication reconciliation.
- Assists physicians in clinical care, including triage, casting, suture removal, vitals, communications with patients, and referrals for physical therapy, diagnostic studies, surgeries, and all other additional treatments.
- Assists physicians in operating room procedures and communicates necessary information and instructions to patients for pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Provides post-operative care and treatment, discusses proper follow-up care, performs evaluations, and provides patient education and discharge.
- Triages patient messages, phone calls and questions appropriately. Communicates back to referring provider on behalf of the physician. Manages referrals to specialists and diagnostics tests in a timely manner. Responds to problems/opportunities to improve patient care and customer service.

- This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
- Education - Successful completion/graduation of program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education. Master’s degree preferred.

- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
- South Carolina Licensed Athletic Trainer (Required for team members working in South Carolina.)
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Knowledge of office equipment
