What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Administrative Technician position at PRISM?

The Information Technology Technician’s primary responsibilities include administering and maintaining information/content on the PRISM website with emphasis on data quality assurance. Contributes to new and ongoing development of PRISM’s website and pool information management system (enterprise/proprietary), performs user acceptance testing and business analysis functions, and may participate in evaluation/implementation of select 3rd party software solutions. Team members are expected to collaborate with resources across the organization to complete work and ensure continual process optimization and innovation.
Under the direction of the Supervising Sr. IT Specialist, the Information Technology Technician will routinely perform the following types of tasks. The work varies depending on time of year, with 0-30% of the work clerical in nature and 60-100% more technical.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
General User Support:
- Serve as a responsive point of contact for Digital Team related queries from various teams and customers
- Troubleshoot and report and/or resolve issues that impact development and user productivity
- Assist team members with basic tasks, such as account setup and data entry
- Maintain user documentation and knowledge resources to enhance self-service options
Data Quality Assurance:
- Perform data entry and data cleansing/scrubbing tasks
- Perform content updates on PRISM’s website
- Execute data quality checks and validation procedures
- Identify and address data discrepancies to ensure accurate application functionality
- Collaborate with the team to uphold data quality standards and user expectations
- Monitor data quality metrics to contribute to continuous improvements
- Create and distribute routine and ad-hoc reports
Data Documentation and Training:
- Document data sources and quality processes, with a focus on their relevance to web development
- Contribute to training efforts to ensure team members follow data management best practices
- Provide support to development teams in accessing and utilizing data effectively
- Prepare, review, and edit a variety of documents including process/procedures, training materials, and knowledge base articles to ensure accuracy, completeness and conformance with established standards
- Technology Committee – work with manager to develop agendas, take meeting minutes and attend meetings
- Serve on the Committee Coordinators team
- Provide support to the Members Services team for newsletters and website postings as needed.
Development Support:
- Assist in testing applications to ensure they meet user and design requirements
- Create and execute test cases, document issues, and report findings to improve application usability and functionality
- Collaborate with developers to streamline processes and optimize performance
- Light travel, where AV support is required at off-site meetings/events.
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and two years of experience, that requires advanced computer skills or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, including but not limited to:
- Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
- Ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Basic familiarity with development concepts, data validation, and/or IT support principles
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for helping development teams and users succeed
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, adapt to dynamic project needs, and troubleshoot effectively
- Eagerness to acquire new skills and adapt to evolving technology
- Coursework or certification in web/app development or data management is a plus.
For approximately the first two weeks following hire, selected candidate will report to our Folsom office daily for onboarding. After successful completion, selected candidates will have the option to work full time in our Folsom office, or remotely from a home location within a commutable distance from our Folsom, CA office, or a hybrid of both options. Candidates must also be able and willing to report in person to our Folsom location for meetings and agency events several times throughout the year.
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements of this position typically include reaching, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move. Some travel may be required.
