Job Description:
We seek a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Priority Urgent Care. The ideal candidate will be crucial in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Obtain and accurately record vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
- Prepare patients for medical procedures and administer medications as directed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood draws and urinalysis.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper stocking of medical supplies.
- Educate patients about their conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Ensure compliance with all infection control and safety protocols.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain electronic health records.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and insurance verification.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns and inquiries.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant certification required.
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in an urgent care or similar clinical setting is a plus.
- Proficiency in basic medical procedures and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- BLS certification required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
