Admissions Director – Supported Living (IDD & Behavioral Health)
Full-Time | Competitive Base Quarterly Bonus | Mission-Driven Impact
We’re seeking an Admissions Director to lead admissions for a supported-living IDD/behavioral health program in Ohio. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-heavy environment and enjoys turning leads into meaningful placements for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Unlike traditional residential programs, Ohio operates under a supported living model, which means admissions flow through county portals and require strong organizational skills, persistence, and the ability to convert limited information into actionable next steps. If you enjoy a blend of administrative precision and relationship-building, this role offers a unique and rewarding challenge.
What You’ll Do
As the Admissions Director, you will own the admissions process from first referral to placement:
- Manage 46 county-specific referral portals, identifying and tracking potential leads
- Review limited front-end referral data and determine funding eligibility
- Engage families, guardians, and county boards once contact is secured
- Coordinate assessments, documentation, and internal reviews across clinical, operations, and medical teams
- Build a predictable admissions workflow and maintain accurate documentation and census updates
- Present individuals to internal teams for approval and placement considerations
- Maintain strong relationships with county entities and community partners
This role requires someone who can handle high-volume administrative work while still being personable, persuasive, and confident in explaining services.
Required Strengths:
- Strong understanding of Medicaid waivers and funding pathways
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills—high accuracy, high volume
- Ability to quickly synthesize limited information and determine eligibility
- Confident communicator who can convert leads once contact is established
- Experience supporting individuals with IDD, SMI, autism, or similar populations
- Comfort navigating multiple systems, portals, and county boards
Preferred Backgrounds:
- Behavioral health, supported living, case management, service coordination, or program management
- Experience in admissions, intake, managed care, or referral management
- Clinical licensure is not required
