Priority Pet Care Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned veterinary urgent care /emergency hospital in Pleasant View, UT.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant / Technician to join our team. As a new Veterinary Assistant / Technician at our hospital you will begin your training at the reception desk. You are expected to help fill in as a receptionist as needed when part of the team.
As the first point of contact for our office, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. We are looking for someone that is both out-going and self-motivated to join our team. The ideal candidate must be willing to show up for work!

Duties:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Answer phone calls and emails (varies from office hours, services offered, medical questions)
- Must have good customer service skills
- Must have good computer skills and the ability to problem solve without constant guidance
- Assist and maintain cleanliness of the clinic
- Check clients in/out efficiently and go over discharge instructions
- Maintain patient records and files in an organized manner
- Assist other technicians with animal handling/restraint, assist with lab machines occasionally
- Assist doctor with intake vitals/TPR, histories, and estimates
- Assist with instrument and hospital machine maintenance and cleaning
- Able to prepare patients for sedation and anesthesia
- Able to monitor patients under anesthesia; maintenance and troubleshooting on anesthetic monitors and machines
- Able to position patients for radiographs correctly
- Be able to effectively communicate with clients and coworkers
- Be able to be in a standing position for 3 hours at a time, be able to lift 40 lbs to assist clients with their pets
- Sundays are required shifts
Experience:
- Must have at least 3 years experience working in a veterinary office setting
- Must have at least 3 years experience working as a veterinary assistant/technician assistant to be considered for this position.
- Veterinary medical terminology
- At least 5 year experience as front desk receptionist or other customer service representative
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and files

Sundays are a required shift. Hours of work will range from 30-35 hours a week for full time. Pay is depending on experience.
