This position will provide direct resident care, assist with clerical and administrative duties at the nursing station, and support the Activities Department, including weekend activities and special events as needed.
Principal Responsibilities
• Encourage resident participation in activities designed to promote physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being.
• Observe, report, and document changes in resident condition.
• Maintain accurate resident records and documentation.
• Answer telephones, take messages, and direct calls appropriately.
• Maintain resident charts, physician orders, and nursing station records.
• Assist nursing staff with clerical and administrative tasks.
• Schedule appointments, transportation, and communicate with outside providers as directed.
• Ensure proper filing and organization of resident records and paperwork.
• Assist with planning, organizing, and conducting resident activities and events.
• Provide direct resident care in accordance with individualized care plans
• Assist with holiday events, special programs, community events, and facility celebrations.
• Provide weekend activity coverage and support as needed.
• Assist with activity attendance tracking and required documentation.
• Promote a positive, respectful, and resident-centered environment.
• Follow all facility policies, state regulations, infection control practices, and resident rights standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Activities Director, or Administrator.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Current Louisiana Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a long-term care environment.
