PRN Medication Technician & Floor Aide (68651)

Position Summary

The Medication Technician (Med Tech) plays a vital role in supporting residents' health and well-being by safely administering medications and assisting with daily living activities. This position requires compassion, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for seniors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer medications accurately and timely according to physician orders and facility protocols
• Document medication administration in residents’ records and maintain confidentiality
• Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition and report concerns to nursing staff
• Maintain medication carts and storage areas in a clean, organized, and secure manner
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, and mobility
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
• Support shift transitions by providing thorough handoff reports
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and facility policies

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Current Texas Certified Medication Aide (CMA) or Med Tech certification
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred
• Prior experience in assisted living or long-term care setting is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and observational skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
